Foxwood Side Gate

The Foxwood Side Gate is a traditional design with the addition of handsome wrought iron inserts that allow some visibility through the gate and enhance the overall appearance of the gate itself. This Side Gate has a thick frame and vertical cladding constructed of the finest European Redwood Pine and incorporates traditional, handcrafted techniques such as mortise and tenon joints that add strength and durability to all our Side Gates. Available Sizes:
  • Width: from 2ft to 4ft 6"
  • Height: from 5ft to 6ft 10"- (3ft to 4ft 6" classed as Garden Gates, height over 4ft 6" classed as Side Gates)
  • Made to Measure - all gates online can be purchased to the nearest inch, if you do require a more precise size, please contact us. (Unlike others - there is NO additional cost for bespoke, we simply base price on the next size!)
How to Calculate Gate Width:
  • Take 3 measurements between opening - Top, middle and bottom - use the smallest measurement.
  • If posts are already in place, reduce your measurement by 20mm (4/5") to allow for clearance.
  • Putting in posts, don't forget to also reduce this from your measurement.
  • When you have your measurement - select from drop down menu. If the size is not there, call or select next size down.

Choosing Your Posts:
  • 3" x 2" -Pine. Ideal if you want to bolt these into a wall/pillar as they match the gate beautifully. If you select a wax treatment the posts will be waxed to match.
  • 3"x 3" and 4" x 4" 8ft green softwood tanalised posts are designed to be concreted into the ground. The tanalised treatment ensures a 10 year ground contact protection. Good solid posts which can be painted.
  • 70mm x 70mm black metal posts are finished in black.
Our Hinges:

The tee hinges we offer are heavy duty hinges. Chosen as they hold our gates perfectly and with ease unlike cheaper versions which will require replacing alot sooner. Each tee hinge kit comes with the following
  • 2 x 18" Tee Hinges
  • 1 x Brenton Bolt
  • 1 x Ring latch and keep
  • Screws and fixings
Gate Hinge Set

Stain and Treatment:

Each gate is stained by hand individually and 2 coats are applied. It is always advised to re-coat the gate after 28 days of it being fitted and the gate has climatised, then again at 6 months then annually thereafter.
