Select your "Made to Measure" sizes from above or select from our "in stock" range below:
Height of Gate: Taken to the highest point of each gate. We recommend allowing a 50mm (2") clearance between the bottom edge of gate and driveway (as long as the drive is level). If you require a more exact height, please contact us to order.Gate Furniture (hinges etc): 2 x adjustable hinges, hinge pins, closing receiver and opening latch included with each gate (enough to hang direct on existing posts/ pillars). As standard, the position of the hinge will be 6" (150mm) from the bottom edge of gate and 6" (150mm) from top edge of gate. If you require these to be different (if for example you already have pins set into a post/ pillar), please call us.
Metal Gate Posts: 2" x 2" (50mm x 50mm). Supplied to allow the posts to sit in the ground to a depth of 1ft 5" (450mm). The post will arrive cut to size (therefore, if you selected a gate height of 3ft 6", the post length will be 4ft 11"). Hinge pins will be welded on ready and feature post cap fitted.

Calculating Garden Gate width between existing Pillars or Posts:
Take three measurements, top, middle and bottom (as below).
Take the shortest of the three measurements and reduce by 100mm (or 4"). This allows for the hinge (inc pins) and opening gap. The final figure will be the actual width of gate required.
For example: Top: 1m 155mm | Middle: 1m 150mm | Bottom: 1m 145mm - shortest measurement would be 1m 145mm - reduce by 100mm = Actual Gate Width of: 1m 045mm
Calculating the actual width required of a wooden driveway gate is easy...just follow these simple steps below.
- Take three measurements between existing pillars or posts.
- Reduce the LOWEST size by 40mm (or approx 1.5")
- That's it! The size left after the reduction is the gate width required. Online, we offer gate width's to the nearest inch, simply select the closest size (lower) from the drop down menu - or call to order for an exact width.
Please note: If no pillars or posts on there, measure the opening and reduce by 2 x posts. Gates up to 10ft wide should use 100mm x 100mm (4" x 4") posts, over 10ft use 150mm x 150mm (6" x 6") posts.

Measuring for Automated Gates:
For above ground automation, rear hung on the back of the posts take the smallest measurement and reduce by 50mm (this will give you the actual gate size to order).
For above ground automation, hung in the centre of the posts take the smallest measurement and reduce by 150mm (this will give you the actual gate size to order).
For below ground automation, rear hung on the back of the posts take the smallest measurement and plus 20mm (this will give you the actual gate size to order).
For below ground automation, rear hung in the centre of the posts take the smallest measurement and reduce by 240mm (this will give you the actual gate size to order).
Images are used to show the style of gate and have been computer generated. A Sample of wood used in construction is available on request. Width advertised is total width of gate. For example, if you select a width of 9ft, you will receive 2 leafs at 4ft 6". Height is taken to the highest point of gate. Rear view design can differ from image shown depending on the width of gate and/ or height.
